जानिए अम्बेडकरनगर की चुनावी हलचल 1962 से अब तक

अम्बेडकरनगर। अंबेडकर नगर आजादी के बाद अब तक इन सीटों पर अल्पसंख्यक उम्मीदवारों का दबदबा कायम रहा लगभग सात दशक बीत जाने के बाद भी टांडा विधानसभा सीट पर हुए चुनावों में कुर्मी व अल्पसंख्यक वर्ग के जनप्रतिनिधियों का दबदबा रहा है। यहां वर्ष 1962 से अब तक हुए चुनाव में 4 बार अल्पसंख्यक वर्ग का जनप्रतिनिधि चुने गए तो वही 10 बार कुर्मी वर्ग के प्रत्याशियों को विधायक बनने का मौका मिला। लंबे समय तक बसपा के कब्जे में रही इस सीट पर पिछले दो चुनाव से सपा व भाजपा का कब्जा रहा है। टांडा सीट पर भाजपा को छोड़ कांग्रेस, सपा व बसपा ने अपने प्रत्याशी घोषित कर दिए हैं। भाजपा से यहां सिटिंग विधायक संजू देवी हैं, जिनके अलावा अन्य दावेदार भी टिकट की दौड़ में है।

गौरतलब है कि अंबेडकर नगर जिले की टांडा विधानसभा सीट का चुनावी इतिहास अत्यंत रोचक रहा है। इस सीट से चुने जाने वाले कई विधायकों को मंत्री बनने तक का मौका मिला है। जिला मुख्यालय अकबरपुर के अलावा शहरी आबादी के मामले में भी टांडा का मुख्य स्थान है। वस्त्र उद्योग के लिए देश के बाहर तक प्रसिद्ध टांडा से यूं तो विधानसभा चुनाव की शुरुआत 1951 से हुई, लेकिन तब दो विधायक चुने जाते थे। वर्ष 1962 से टांडा सीट के नाम पर इकलौते विधायक के चुने जाने का सिलसिला शुरू हुआ। उस समय कांग्रेस के जयराम वर्मा विधायक चुने गए।

बताते चलें कि सन 1967 में कांग्रेस के आरसी आजाद विधायक बने, तो 1969 मेें उन्हेें बीकेडी से विधायक बनने का मौका मिला। 1970 के उपचुनाव में जयराम वर्मा बीकेडी से विधायक बनने में कामयाब रहे। 1974 में कांग्रेस से निसार अहमद अंसारी, 1977 में जनता पार्टी के अब्दुल हफीज, वर्ष 1980 में जनता पार्टी सेक्यूलर से गोपीनाथ वर्मा विधायक चुने गए। वर्ष 1985 में कांग्रेस के टिकट पर जयराम वर्मा विधायक बने, तो 1988 में हुए उपचुनाव में लोकदल के टिकट पर फिर से गोपीनाथ वर्मा विधायक चुने गए।

1989 मेें जनता दल के टिकट पर गोपीनाथ वर्मा विधायक बने, तो 1991 में जनता दल से लड़कर लालजी वर्मा को विधायक बनने का मौका मिला। 1993 में बीएसपी से मसूद अहमद विधायक निर्वाचित हुए। इसके बाद 1996 से लेकर 2007 तक बसपा के टिकट पर लालजी वर्मा तीन बार विधायक चुने गए। वर्ष 2012 में सपा के अजीमुलहक पहलवान निर्वाचित हुए, तो 2017 में भाजपा के टिकट पर संजू देवी विधायक बनीं।

मौजूदा चुनाव में सपा ने यहां से पूर्व मंत्री राममूर्ति वर्मा, कांग्रेस ने पूर्व जिलाध्यक्ष मेराजुद्दीन किछौछवी, तो वहीं बसपा ने पहले भी चुनाव लड़ चुके पार्टी के नेता मनोज वर्मा को फिर से प्रत्याशी बनाया है। भाजपा की तरफ से मौजूदा विधायक संजू देवी के अलावा कुर्मी वर्ग से जुड़े दो पूर्व जिलाध्यक्ष टिकट के प्रबल दावेदार बने हुए हैं। अब देखने वाली बात है कि भाजपा टांडा विधानसभा क्षेत्र से किस पर अपना दांव खेलने के लिए तैयारी कर रहे हैं जबकि अकबरपुर में आलापुर विधानसभा सीट पर भी भाजपा के कई दावेदार लाइन में लगे हुए हैं।

 Ambedkar Nagar.  Ambedkar Nagar After independence, till now, these seats have been dominated by minority candidates.  In the elections held here from the year 1962 till now, 4 times the people's representatives of the minority community were elected, while the same 10 times the candidates of Kurmi class got a chance to become MLAs.  This seat, which was in the possession of BSP for a long time, has been occupied by SP and BJP for the last two elections.  Except BJP, Congress, SP and BSP have declared their candidates for Tanda seat.  The sitting MLA from BJP is Sanju Devi, apart from whom other contenders are also in the race for the ticket.

 It is worth mentioning that the electoral history of Tanda assembly seat of Ambedkar Nagar district has been very interesting.  Many MLAs elected from this seat have got a chance to become ministers.  Apart from the district headquarter Akbarpur, Tanda is also the main place in terms of urban population.  Although the assembly elections started in 1951 from Tanda, famous for the textile industry even outside the country, but then two MLAs were elected.  From the year 1962, the process of electing the lone MLA in the name of Tanda seat started.  At that time Jairam Verma of Congress was elected MLA.

 Let us tell that in 1967, RC Azad of Congress became MLA, then in 1969 he got a chance to become MLA from BKD.  In the 1970 by-election, Jairam Verma managed to become an MLA from BKD.  Nisar Ahmed Ansari from Congress in 1974, Abdul Hafeez of Janata Party in 1977, Gopinath Verma from Janata Party Secular in 1980.  In the year 1985, Jairam Verma became MLA on Congress ticket, then Gopinath Verma was again elected MLA on Lok Dal ticket in the 1988 by-election.

 In 1989, Gopinath Verma became MLA on Janata Dal ticket, then in 1991 Lalji Verma got a chance to become MLA after fighting Janata Dal.  In 1993, Masood Ahmed was elected MLA from BSP.  After this, from 1996 to 2007, Lalji Verma was elected MLA thrice on a BSP ticket.  In the year 2012, Azimulhak wrestler of SP was elected, then in 2017 Sanju Devi became MLA on BJP ticket.

 In the current election, SP has re-nominated former minister Rammurthy Verma, Congress has fielded former district president Merajuddin Kichhochvi, while BSP has re-nominated party leader Manoj Verma, who had contested the elections earlier.  Apart from sitting MLA Sanju Devi from BJP, two former district presidents belonging to Kurmi class remain strong contenders for the ticket.  Now it is to be seen that on whom BJP is preparing to play its bet from Tanda assembly constituency, while many BJP contenders are also in line for Alapur assembly seat in Akbarpur.
